Galium odoratum
Today, sweet woodruff is most commonly seen as a ground cover for shady areas. It was previously used for its fresh smell of the leaves and as an air freshener. It is hardy in zones 4-8. Sweet woodruff spreads by sending out runners.
Growing information: Seeds can be planted directly outdoors after the danger of frost has passed or started indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. To start indoors spread the seeds evenly in containers and cover lightly with peat moss. Water, then keep in the refrigerator for 2 weeks. Keep moist during that period, then place the containers in a cool, lit area, around 50F. Once the seedlings have emerged, you can move the seedlings to a warmer location. Transplant outdoors in a shaded area. Keep in control by edge trimming.
Min qty/packet: 50 seeds
