Mild licorice flavor from this annual. Our tradition of serving cake at the end of a wedding came from the Romans who used the seeds to flavor cake known as mustaceoe.
Growing information: Plant directly in average, well-drained soil after the danger of frost has passed. Prefers full sun. Sets small white flowers in mid-summer with seeds ripening later in August and September.
