Description: The king of herbs, Basil is a leafy annual that has been cultivated in India for 5,000 years. It is a common ingredient in a wide range of cuisines.
Planting Instructions: Start seeds indoors 6 weeks before the last frost. Transplant seedlings into well-drained soil 10-12" apart after danger of frost has passed in a location that will provide a minimum of 6-8 hours of sunlight daily. Direct plant seeds 1/4" deep after the last frost date, the soil should be at least 70�F/21�C. Gets along well with tomatoes. Great for container gardening. Harvest frequently to encourage more growth and larger overall yields. Pinch directly above where a pair of leaves are growing; two stems will result. Pinch any flowers.
