Summer Savory

$3.00

Satureja hortensis

Summer savory is an annual that finds a home in many French dishes, as well as Eastern European and German cuisine. It makes an excellent addition to grilling meats, soups, stews, and sauces.  Grows to about 18" tall with small white or lavender flowers.

Growing information: Sow seeds directly on well-prepared soil after danger of frost has passed.  Seeds need sunlight to germinate.  Sow in an area with full sun and average soil. Seeds germinate in about 14-21 days.  Thin plants to about 10" apart in rows 12-18" apart.  Cut back when plants reach about 6" tall and before flowering.  Hang branches upside down in an airy location to dry.  Summer savory will self sow if allowed to go seed.

Min qty/packet: 100 seeds
