Tagetes patula
Min Qty: 1 g
Description: Lively colorful annual and said to repel harmful pests. Prolific and hardy, tolerates heat, humidity, but needs additional water during drought. Great choice for containers at 6-12" high with single orange and yellow blooms.
Planting Instructions: 45 days to bloom. Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Sow seeds 1/4" deep in a sterile potting mix at 70-75F. Keep evenly moist until seeds germinate in 7-21 days. Provide plenty of light. Transplant outdoors after hardening plants off and when they have at least 2 sets of true leaves. Alternately, sow seeds outdoors in a prepared bed after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed. Choose a location that has good drainage and receives full sun. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage new growth.
