Description: Pre-1900 Heirloom. This Southern staple makes a delicious addition to salads when harvested young, in stir fry, wilted, sauteed or in soups as they grow. Very dependable, long-lasting crop. Good choice for container gardening.
Planting Instructions: 50 days. Direct sow seeds 1/4" deep in rich, well-prepared soil as soon as it can be worked in the spring. Thin seedlings to 12" apart in rows at least 18" apart. For a fall crop, start seeds 6-8 weeks before first fall frost.
