Description: Open-pollinated variety, known for its side shoots, Soltice produces mild domed heads, 4-5" across. Well-suited for a fall crop, heads turn purple and sweeter after first frost.
Planting Instructions: 70 days. Start plants indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost. Sow 1/4" deep in a starting mix. Keep evenly moist until germination. Provide plenty of light after the seedlings emerge. Transplant outdoors after danger of frost, spacing the plants 24-30" apart in rows 36" apart in rich, well-prepared soil. Prefers long, cool summers. Heavy feeders, so fertilize well, and keep well-irrigated, especially during dry spells. Does not tolerate heat well. Plant early-summer for a fall harvest.
