Description: Bulbing fennel well suited to cooler climates. Perennial typically grown as an annual with a licorice flavor and scent. Young stalks and leaves are added to salads, seeds are used in fish recipes, as well as in beverages, baked and sweets. Can also be steamed, grilled or sauteed. Plants can grow to 6' and make a good back drop to a garden.

Planting Instructions: 72 days. Best sown outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Soak seeds overnight before planting to increase germination. Direct seed 1/4" in a sunny location with good drainage, well away from dill to avoid unpleasant tasting cross pollination. Keep evenly moist until seedlings emerge in 1-2 weeks. Thin plants to 12-18" apart. Self seeds.
