Raphanus sativus
Min Qty: 3 g
Description: Traditional German radish, from Bavaria, served in brewhausen throughout Northern Europe, sliced fresh and salted on bread or with pretzels. Large, 4" oval white roots store well. The seedpods are picked for their spicy, crunchy flavor and are excellent pickled or in salads.
Planting Instructions: 55 days. After danger of frost has passed, plant seeds 1/4" deep in furrows in well-prepared soil in rows 18-24" apart. Cover with screened compost, or sand. Thin seedlings to 6" apart. Water regularly for best flavor and elminate woody roots. Plant in mid-summer for a fall harvest.
