    Description: Melissa means honeybee in Greek and the flowers of the Lemon Balm attacts lots of them! A member of the mint family, Lemon Balm is a perennial to Zone 4, grows to 2-3'. Delicious in salads, teas, with fruit or dried for its wonderful aroma. Edible flowers; gather leaves before it flowers for best results.

      Planting Instructions: 70 days. For best results, place seeds in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks, as the seeds like a cool to cold period before germinating. Lemon Balm is a light dependent germinator, so just spread the seeds over well-prepared soil, don't cover them! Prefers full sun to partial shade. Plants can be divided every 3 years. Self seeds, and can get weedy. To avoid this, cut the seed heads before they burst open.
