Allium fistulosum
Min Qty: 2g
Description: A perennial nonbulbing heirloom from Japan first introduced in the 1880's. If overwintered, the bulbs divide and provide bunches of scallions early in the spring.
Planting Instructions: 65 days. Seeds can be sown early in the spring for a summer harvest or mid to late summer for fall and spring harvest. Direct sow seeds 1/4" deep in well-prepared, rich soil with good drainage in a location with full sun. Thin to 2-3" apart. Build up soil around the stems 2 or 3 times during the growing season, higher each time, to create longer, blanched stalks.
