    Min Qty: 1.5 g

Description:  French heirloom from the 1870's, produces 5-7" long, thick carrots, with excellent, sweet flavor.  Versatile, good fresh, for storage, in soups, canned or frozen.

Planting Instructions:   70 days.  Plant in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked in well-prepared deep, loose soil, free of rocks.  Sow seeds in shallow furrows 1/8"-1/4" deep, covering with a thin layer of soil, vermiculite or fine, screened compost in rows 12-18" apart.  Keep soil moist to speed germination and prevent soil crusting.  Seedlings should emerge in 14-21 days.  Thin seedlings to 2-3" apart.  For a continued harvest, plant every 2-3 weeks.
