Description: Heirloom winter acorn squash that is well-suited to baking. First introduced in 1913. Fruits grow up to 1-2 pounds with dark green skin and orange flesh. Stores well for 3-4 months.
Planting Instructions: 80-90 days. Bush variety. Can be started indoors 3-4 weeks before last frost or directly into hills or rows after the danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed. After the danger of frost has passed, and the soil has warmed, sow seeds 1" deep, in loose, rich soil in rows, plant seeds 4-6" apart in rows 6' apart. Thin seedlings to 2-3' when they have 2 sets of leaves. Squash are generally heavy feeders, so fertilize as they grow to improve your harvest.
