Brassica oleracea
Min Qty: 2 g
Description: Open pollinated variety introduced in 1888. Heads grow 6-7" across and are delicious fresh, in a dip, roasted or steamed. Does well in most regions of the United States.
Planting Instructions: 80 days. Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Sow 1/4-1/2" deep into a starting mix. Keep evenly moist until germination. Provide plenty of light after the seedlings emerge. Transplant into rich, well-worked soil after the danger of frost has passed. Space plants about 15-18" apart in rows 24-36" apart in a location that gets plenty of sun. Mulch around plants to retain moisture and even out temperature extremes.
