Nepeta cataria
Min Qty: 2 g
Description: Hardy perennial in zones 3-8 that self sows after being established. Said to be a better insect repellant than DEET and an intoxicant to cats the world over. Super easy to grow, and a great choice for containers. Plant it around your garden to attract cats that will keep away mice, moles and other critters. Support the plants with sturdy stakes otherwise that cats will knock them all down!
Planting Instructions: 80 days. Start indoors 2-4 weeks before last frost. Keep evenly moist until germination, in 1-2 weeks. Provide plenty of light and transplant outdoors 18" apart after hardening off in a location that has well-worked soil and plenty of sun. Alternately, direct sow outdoors after soil has warmed and danger of frost has passed. Dry leaves for a winter of cat joy. Self seeds and sends out runners.
