Lagenaria siceraria
Min Qty: 30 seeds
Description: Shaped like a large bowl or pot. Requires a very long growing season, and can grow very large under the proper conditions. Flowers at night and has very long vines!
Planting Instructions: 135 days. Scarify and soak seeds overnight prior to sowing. After danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed up, sow seeds 1" deep, in loose, rich soil. If you are planting in rows, plant seeds 4-6" apart in rows 12' apart. If you are planting in hills, plant 3-4 seeds in a ring around the top of the hill, spacing your hills about 9' apart. In cooler climates, you'll have to start these indoors 3-4 weeks before last frost date. Plant with corn and pole beans, about 2 weeks after the corn is sown. To maximize gourd size, limit to 1 fruit per plant.
